10.36am Crayford Race Preview 13/07/2018

Meenagh Mourinho

An early start today for the myracing greyhound syndicate with a runner in the very first race of the Crayford card. A top grade affair to open up is a tantalising start to Friday’s proceedings, with Romford in the limelight this evening for our greyhound tips.

10.36am Crayford 13/07/2018 A1 Grade

Trap 2 Special Story – Took the notable scalp of Brinkleys Poet over this 380m in May but she lacks instantaneous early. She produced a 3.55 that day for a 23.31 but her usual sectionals of 3.60 are going to have her on the back foot early if she isn’t careful. Needs to come away.

Trap 3 Late Hyena – Owned in part by some of the myracing syndicate members, she is a regular sub 23.40 round here. Not long out of puppy status, she’s a tough one to pick up if she gets on the bunny. She tends to move slightly right from the lids so a slow starter in 4 is ideal. The one they all have to beat.

Trap 4 Art Of Magic – Lacks the early pace to get involved in the early skirmishes but that does mean he may miss the trouble. He does have the occasional smash break in his locker which would make him dangerous, a 23.36 and 23.41 winner this year when hitting the lids.

Trap 5 Travelin Soldier – Clocked a flying 23.18 at the end of May but that was an A2 when things fell perfectly for him. He is yet to show his form from 5 as he does from 6 which is a big negative for his supporters here but he does stay this trip well.

Trap 6 Meenagh Mourinho – Stripes on Jose’s back is a blessing in this contest which is a deep looking A1. 0/7 at this level, he’s going to need plenty to go his way to break his duck at this grade. He has sub 3.50 sectionals in his arsenal, today would be the perfect time to pull one of those out to give him the best possible chance.

Conclusion

As an A1 should be, this is a tough looking contest. The 2, 3 and 4 are all open race winners here, the 2 beating Brinkleys Poet in the process of winning hers. Jose will always have a chance in races with his early pace but given his record when in this deep is 0/7, it’s hard to see him winning without plenty of luck. Whoever gets on the bunny on the inside between 2 and 3 looks the most likely victor and with some of the myracing greyhound syndicate having shares in the 3, if Jose doesn’t win, fingers crossed it’s Late Hyena.
