1.31pm Crayford Race Preview 10/07/2018

Two runners on Tuesday’s lunchtime card at Crayford in back to back races. The myracing greyhound syndicate had a pair of winners last Thursday as both Meenagh Mourinho and Jacobs Fire came home in front. It’s the latter who kicks off for the syndicate this afternoon, with our greyhound tips from Sheffield and Crayford tonight.

1.31pm Crayford 10/07/2018 A5 Grade

Pesky Tess – Tends to show her best form over further, a smart S5 winner in 34.37 last month. She has fair early pace for mid grades so despite being 0/4 at this level, she looks a tricast mixer with her staying strength.

Finchley Road – Just 1/14 here, that coming in this grade back in January. Rarely shows enough early over this trip to get involved and doesn’t stay further so will need a smash break here with a pair of strong stayers either side.

Jacobs Fire – Showed smart track craft for one with so little experience to get off the mark last week. She clocked a decent 23.80, especially as that was from behind. She looks a stayer in the making as has been mentioned before but a repeat of last time would see her close.

Special Fli – Given that she was a 2 bend hound at Harlow, she hasn’t shown much of that sprinting early in her runs here. Slow sectionals have seen her encountering trouble, unable to break 24 seconds when winning an A6. Needs a fair bit more to win this.

Roding Royle – Another ex Harlow hound, she makes her race debut at Crayford today. She showed plenty of early at her former track, producing an eye-catching sectional in her final trial last time. Should be more to come as she learns the track, looking the likely pace angle here.

Caboose – Only had to clock 24.21 to win in this grade last month, quickly given a drop back from A4. Has three clockings in the mid 23.80’s which would see him competitive but he’ll find it hard to get on the bunny early with the 5 a quick starter.

Conclusion

Not the toughest A5 in the world for Jacobs Fire, a repeat of last weeks 23.80 win would see her right in the mix once more. Aside from the 5, there isn’t an awful lot of early in here so with a slice of luck, she may turn closer to the pace than she has done in the past. Whatever she does today, she’ll improve on in time over further, looking an exciting prospect in the making.
