What Is A Lucky 15?
What is a Lucky 15?
A Lucky 15 is a multiple bet on four different horses. These include four separate bets on each individual horse, six doubles, four trebles and one accumulator including all four of the chosen selections. It can either be done for the four horses to win, which is a straight fifteen bets, or it can be done each-way, where there are another fifteen bets following this pattern on the horses chosen to finish in the frame, making a total of 30 bets.
Why is it popular?
A Lucky 15 is a very popular bet for a number of reasons. The main one is that it doesn’t require the punter to spend large amounts in order to be able to make a considerable profit. A 10p Lucky 15, costing £1.50 can generate huge returns for the punter if all four selections win. For example, if a punter made four selections all for example’s sake priced at 4/1, he would make £128 profit if they all won. Now of course, it is often not as simple as that, however even if the punter only has a couple of winners, they stand to gain a return, unlike with an accumulator bet where the margins are finer. Even with just two winners at 4/1, the punter would still more than double their money. A multiple bet like a Lucky 15 allows the prospective punter to back a number of horses, without having to fork out large amounts of money backing them all individually.
Lucky 15 Bonuses
Another incentive for doing a Lucky 15 when you have a bet is that most bookmakers offer special bonuses to their customers. It is commonplace for bookmakers to offer double the odds on one winner, and some have even stretched this to triple the odds, so even with one winner at 4/1 the punter get the majority of their money back. Furthermore, the majority of bookmakers offer a bonus if every selection in the bet wins of at least 10%.
