Punchestown Festival Tips Day Three
A two mile Handicap Hurdle kicks off the middle day of racing at the Punchestown Festival before a Grade B Handicap Chase over the same distance.
The La Touche Cup Cross Country Chase is race three and trainer Enda Bolger has long been a master in these types of races, with four of the last ten runnings going to him. His Josies Orders’ record at the venue speaks for itself and could give him yet another La Touche Cup.
Another stamina test next with the Champion Stayers Hurdle, won last year in facile fashion by the brilliant Faugheen. But the Mares allowance could be key this year with some highly talented sorts such as Apple’s Jade, Laurina and Benie Des Dieux potential runners.
A Grade B Handicap Hurdle over three miles precedes the Ryanair Novice Chase over two miles which has been won by the Arkle winner in three of the past four years.
Mares are the focus in the penultimate contest of the card with a Listed Hurdle over the minimum trip before another Bumper to end the day.
