12.25pm Fairyhouse Tips & Betting Preview 03/11/2016

An intriguing Mares Handicap Chase with some decent types competing for the 18,450 Euro prize. Read on for our experts’ thoughts and betting tips.

IN SUMMARY: A few of these turn out again after finishing behind Westerner Lady at Clonmel 16 days ago and that race is a perfect starting point for this. Presenting Mahler has been in fair form this year and can get involved if putting his last run at Clonmel behind him. He will surely struggle however against THANKS FOR TEA who was second behind the Willie Mullins horse that day and should be tough to beat here if running her race her again. Emcon will go close if coping with his mark of 122 after his fine win at Cork and he could be the one to pick up the pieces if the selection fails to fire.

1 Who’s That – Has won twice this year including a shoulder length win at Leopardstown in Heavy ground in February. Fair form in two runs after that before getting up to win by a half-length at Limerick in May. Has been off for 6 months and makes Handicap Chase debut today. Looks up against it here giving weight away here.

2 Thanks For Tea – Fair form without winning behind some smart types ever since getting up to score by 3 ¾ lengths at Limerick in July. Got to within a half-length of Westerner Lady from the Willie Mullins yard in a Grade 3 Mares race at Clonmel 16 days ago. Makes Handicap debut over Fences today and has a good shout on form.

3 Emcon – Has won twice from 4 runs this season, winning impressively last time when running a career-best in a 12-runner event at Cork 13 days ago. Makes Handicap Chase debut today and dangerous to discount in current form.

4 Presenting Mahler – Won a 4-runner Chase at Sligo in September and fair form since. Beaten into last behind Westerner Lady at Cork 16 days ago and makes Handicap Chase debut today. Looks up against it again.

5 Perfect Woman – Scored a wonderful four-timer last year with wins at Clonmel, Sligo, Cork and Thurles. Fair form in four runs after that but pulled-up in last two, including at Limerick on last start 153 days ago. Others look stronger today and has plenty of question marks around her now.

6 Not For Burning – Two wins here this year, scoring comfortably by 8 lengths in a Handicap Hurdle in January and then following up 3 runs later with a half-length victory in February over 2m4f. Fair form in between but has been poor in three runs so far over Fences and can be overlooked in this making Handicap debut.

7 Hello Sweetie – Won a Beginner’s Chase in good fashion at Clonmel in October but was well behind in fourth in the Grade 3 won by Westerner Lady 16 days ago. Make Handicap debut today and is a much better Hurdler than Chaser these days. Others look stronger. Likely to find it tough again with those ahead of her that day.

8 Cinder Rua – Only won once in 28 NH runs. Last at Navan 20 days ago in a Handicap Hurdle when didn’t really get the run of the race. Switches from Hurdles today and up in trip. Easy to leave out in this.
