Horse racing is in Liam's blood and his biggest passion is jumps racing. He can often be found at his favourite tracks; Chepstow and Cheltenham in the Autumn when the National Hunt action kicks off. Ed Dunlop is yet to land a winner at Hamilton in the last five years but he sends one runner on the 720-mile round trip to the Scottish track on Wednesday. Here we take a closer look at the horse in question and whether or not the shedding of her maiden tag is on the cards.

Mimi’s Magic hasn’t been in the greatest form of late but she was a fair second off a 9lb higher mark on handicap debut at Wolverhampton in May. She came very close to winning when runner-up by a neck in her second start at Chelmsford last term and should be capable of competing at this level.

Trainer and jockey combination to follow

Tristan Davidson and Rowan Scott have a 50 per cent strike-rate when joining forces at Hamilton and they combine with Iris Dancer on Wednesday.

The experienced eight-year-old was a winner over course and distance back in July and currently finds herself on a 1lb lower mark. A big run can’t be ruled out with that in mind and the daughter of Kodiac will appreciate the drop in grade, having run in Class 4 company the last twice.

Star potential at Kempton

Charlie Appleby is set to run Fortitudine and three-year-old could hardly have been more impressive when winning on debut over course and distance. He landed that 12-runner race by a margin of 12 lengths and whilst his price will be very short, he’s worth keeping an eye on for bigger future targets.
