Naas on Monday: Ballydoyle filly to follow, trainers with meeting form and British raiders

The Curragh 2018

Monday is set fare for another good day of action with four meetings across Britain and Ireland to look forward to. There’s an Aidan O’Brien newcomer to follow, a couple of trainers with good records in their respective races at Naas, and a pair of British raiders in Ireland.

Can this Ballydoyle runner be victorious on debut?

Ryan Moore and Aidan O’Brien have teamed up to win the opening 6f fillies’ maiden at Naas three times in the last five years and this year’s hope Victorious (5.10 Naas) must also hold strong claims. The daughter of Wootton Bassett is a Sister to 7f winner Stellenbosch, and half-sister both Mother Nature and Sugar Island who were both very decent. It would be no shock to see this lady go off favourite.

Natalia Lupini seeking third win in five years in 6f handicap

Natalia Lupini won the 6f handicap back-to-back in 2022 and 2023 with Blairmayne and she has another solid shout here with Bishopton (6.15 Naas). He was a wide-margin winner at Down Royal last year and made a winning return at Dundalk last month so he is one that all should be weary of in the contest.

Two British raiders cross the Irish Sea seeking Listed prize

Fahrenheit Seven and Getreadytorumble (7.15 Naas) represent the Robert Cowell and Jack Channon yards and both have a solid each-way chance in the 5f Listed Woodlands Stakes. It’s a very competitive heat and the market will be informative.

Joseph Murphy runner looks value in 1m handicap

Murphy has won the 1m handicap twice in the last three years, including a 33/1 winner, and Alphecca (7.45 Naas) could be a bit of value on her return seeking the hat-trick.
