Stede Bonnet was a useful performer in bumpers and finished second on his debut at Kilbeggan in May. Confirming that promise with a comfortable success at Clonmel the following month, a penalty didn’t prevent him from going in again at Bellewstown after that. He was a tad disappointing at Galway over hurdles last time but should be capable of better here.

Truckers Cruising failed to win in nine starts over hurdles and was a faller at Fairyhouse on his penultimate start. The son of Flemensfirth did win a point-to-point so perhaps the switch to fences will suit. He probably has a bit to prove now but it’s still early days.

King Gris was less than a length away from winning an Irish point at Ballyvodock in February, where he finished third. He struggled badly in three starts over hurdles for Patrick Morris and is set to make his handicap and stable debut here. We’ll need to see a lot more in order for him to feature.

Broadway Ted runs in the concluding bumper and the four-year-old is related to a couple of winners. Both of his half-siblings won bumpers and this horse should be no different. All three of Gordon Elliott’s bumper runners in Britain so far this season have won and that statistic could be telling.
