1.45 Cheltenham

Numitor (18/1, Boylesports) has a patchy completion record recently but when he does get round, he often runs well. Heather Main’s veteran won a race here on the New Course back in December and claimed a comfortable victory over three miles at Ascot in March. Currently on just a 1lb higher mark, there are plenty of reasons to be confident of a big run.

2.55 Cheltenham

Matata (14/1, bet365) appears to have been overlooked in the betting here and that could be dangerous. He bolted up in a handicap chase over course and distance at this meeting last year and acquitted himself well in graded company after that. JJ Slevin heads over just to ride Nigel & Willy Twiston-Davies’ seven-year-old and he’s far from out of this. If we get a shock result here, Matata will be the one to do it.

3.30 Cheltenham

Imperfectlyperfect (28/1, bet365) represents Lucinda Russell & Michael Scudamore and the yard don’t often send no-hopers to Cheltenham. This horse won a Kelso bumper in good style last term and opened his account over hurdles at the first time of asking last month. More will be needed at this level but he’s entitled to improve and the step up to 2m5f should help his cause.
