Course form can be absolutely crucial when looking for a winner. If you know your way around a place, you are going to have an advantage over somebody who has never been there before. The same applies to horses – knowing your way around a venue is always a big advantage. Adrian Wall has picked out three former course winners running on ITV on Saturday and they form a treble.
We landed a tasty 67/1 treble at Ascot a while back and this week’s treble returns great odds at the time of posting. Best of luck if you have a play.
Envoi Allen has always been aimed at this meeting, and made it five wins in the last six years here when winning this race last year. He had no joy in the Ryanair Chase at the Cheltenham Festival when last seen in March but is certain to be primed for this on his return to action, despite his age.
Max Of Stars was right back to her best when taking advantage of a falling mark in a five-runner handicap over C&D last month. This is a better race from a 2lb higher mark but she comes here in form and will have Brian Hughes in the saddle. Big player.
The Changing Man won a Grade 2 over C&D in February before finishing a brilliant second in the Ultima at Cheltenham a month later. He was last seen disappointing in a Grade 1 at Aintree but this will be easier on his return and he should have enough in the tank to get his season off to a flyer.
