‘The switch of yard is informative’ – Liam’s 33/1 ante-post Ayr Gold Cup pick

The 2018 Ayr Gold Cup, Son Of Rest (Chris Hayes) and Baron Bolt (Cameron Noble) dead heat

The MyRacing team has been in good form of late and our tipping has been very successful. Liam Bramall tipped the Sprint Cup winner at 16/1 a couple of weeks ago and now turns his attention to the Ayr Gold Cup on Saturday. It’s sure to be a competitive race and there will be extra places on offer.

This selection is available at 33/1 in places and could be significantly overpriced. We also have one at an even bigger price that may struggle to get in but the Silver Cup consolation race could be an option. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

Ayr Gold Cup (3.35 Saturday)

Fahrenheit Seven (33/1, bet365) joined Robert Cowell last month and the late switch of yard is informative. Cowell has an established reputation for training sprinters and and this four-year-old remains relatively lightly raced.

He has won four of his nine starts on turf and was last seen winning a Class 2 event at Hamilton in good style. A 7lb rise will obviously make life harder but there’s scope for further improvement and he’s a solid each-way play at this sort of price.

One to watch in the Silver Cup

Candy is 100/1 for the big race but he needs 21 horses to come out and that seems somewhat unlikely. The Silver Cup could be on the agenda as he’s already guaranteed a run. The three-year-old won the Listed Two Year Old Trophy last autumn and returned to form at Ascot recently. He also won a competitive course and distance nursery at this meeting last year and that bodes well.
