Charlie Sharp’s ante-post Glorious Goodwood Lucky 15 could return £716!

Gifted Master wins the Stewards Cup

Charlie Sharp had a successful time with his tips at Glorious Goodwood in 2024 and he’s already looking ahead to this year. He has four strong ante-post fancies that are well worth following and they combine to form a Lucky 15. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

Lennox Stakes

Cosmic Year (6/1, Boylesports) is due to run in the Group 1 Prix Jean Prat at Deauville on Sunday. The level of the French race is superior to the Lennox and a decent showing here would put him in a good spot for Goodwood.

He was unbeaten until he finished second behind Field Of Gold in the Irish 2,000 Guineas. It’s fair to say that the form has been significantly franked and he looks to be a seven-furlong specialist. As long as he comes out of the Deauville well, the Lennox should be his for the taking.

Goodwood Cup

Illinois (13/8, Boylesports) finished second to Trawlerman in the Gold Cup at Royal Ascot last time and was seven lengths clear of the third. Trawlerman was not included and to me, it looks a penalty kick for Illinois if he turns up.

French Master would have to find at least 6lbs of improvement, stablemate Jan Brueghel has taken a walk in the market and Illinois beat Sweet William by 12 lengths at Royal Ascot. He’ll be better at Goodwood and it’s going to take a lot to beat him.

Nassau Stakes

In what looks like a two-horse race, I’m taking on favourite See The Fire with the improving Whirl (3/1, Boylesports). Eight of the last 12 winners of the Nassau have been three-years-old and Whirl was given the perfect preparation in the Pretty Polly Stakes at the end of June.

If you watch back the Pretty Polly alongside Opera Singer winning the Nassau last year, it was as if Ryan Moore was giving Whirl a dress rehearsal. The form from the Oaks has not been franked, but it’s hard to imagine that See The Fire can concede 9lbs to Aidan O’Brien’s filly.

George Stakes

Aussie-raider Asfoora (5/2, Boylesports) heads the market and was given a very good ride when finishing fourth in the King Charles III Stakes at Royal Ascot.

The 5f at Goodwood doesn’t take as much getting and now that she has gotten a run under her belt, she should come on from Royal Ascot. The race has been targeted for redemption after finishing a neck second last year when badly hampered. She’ll get her revenge this time around.
