We’re quite used to seeing Patrick Mullins riding in Britain as he’s one of the finest amateurs around and regularly rides for his father Willie. He hasn’t ridden at a lot of tracks in Britain, though, and he’s heading to Carlisle on Monday for one ride, which will be his first ever ride at the track. There’s likely to be plenty of interest in this news so we’ve assessed the horse’s chances. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.
Patrick Mullins will take the ride on the unbeaten More Coko for his father Willie in the opening 2m1f novices’ hurdle. The son of Cokoriko is a half-brother to winners Dragon Rock and A Penny A Hundred, while his dam is a half-sister to winners Whistleinthedark and Ice Cool Champs.
More Coko made his debut in a Tramore bumper in August and the market spoke volumes with regard to his chances. Sent off a 4/11 favourite, he went on to win in the manner of a horse with plenty of ability and Reiki Revolution who was back in fifth has won a bumper since.
Next up was a hurdles examination for More Coko and he also passed that examination with flying colours, again at Tramore. He did his best work at the finish when seeing off Kilbarry Ce Ce over this trip and he has already proven himself on decent ground and also on more testing ground.
The Donald McCain runner Throatlash could be a danger and he has to give that one 7lb, but he More Coko will be a warm order here.
