A prolonged dry spell has been causing issues for trainers up and down the country in recent weeks. Many trainers will be delighted by the soft going at Ffos Las on Wednesday so we’ve picked out three horses running there that have won on soft before. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing but please remember to gamble responsibly and keep it fun!
Bridget Mary is one of only three runners in the field to have won on soft ground before and that could give her a distinct advantage. Rebecca Curtis’ mare remains lightly raced over fences, having had just two starts over the larger obstacles, and she was successful on the first of those at Stratford last month. Now 1lb lower than when fourth at Uttoxeter last time, perhaps the soft ground can facilitate a better effort.
Pep Talking got the better of our first selection when scoring at Uttoxeter recently but it’s his very comfortable five-and-a-half-length success on soft ground at Huntingdon last term which is the key piece of form. The third boosted the form by winning at the same track next time and Pep Talking proved at Uttoxeter that trips in the region of 2m4f are no problem.
Triple Nickle was a winner here on the Flat back in August and that success came on heavy ground. Two of her best hurdles efforts have come on soft, including her sole victory in this sphere. She has finished second in her last three hurdles starts and a return to winning ways shouldn’t be ruled out.
