Oisin Murphy is firing on all cylinders at the moment and he’s operating at a strike-rate of 29 per cent in the last 14 days. That’s particular impressive considering the fact that he’s had a substantial number of rides in that time. He heads to Salisbury on Wednesday and has a strike-rate of 43 per cent at the Wiltshire track in 2024. We’ve combined his four best chances into a Lucky 15 and his excellent form can continue. Shout showed plenty on debut at Windsor under the circumstances. He lost any number of lengths at the start that day but kept on well to finish fifth, despite also showing signs of greenness. Simon & Ed Crisford’s colt would surely have learnt plenty from the experience and a more professional display could be on the cards here.
Dream Voyage ran a cracker to finish third in a valuable Newmarket maiden on debut. She was too keen in the early stages and ran green in the final furlong or so but kept on nicely nonetheless. This looks like a good opportunity to get off the mark and she’s entitled to take a step forward.
The Defiant was last victorious off a mark of 62 back in March and currently finds himself on a 1lb lower mark. The eight-year-old is probably better on an artificial surface but has two turf wins to his name and his second at Brighton off 65 last month indicates that he’s capable of adding to that tally.
Sir Gabrial remains lightly raced and he managed to get off the mark in a Newcastle maiden in October. He was a fair fourth on handicap debut at Southwell but disappointed on soft ground at Doncaster when last seen. Alice Haynes’ colt tries quicker ground here and a 2lb drop in the weights should help.
