Jockey with 38% strike-rate at Ascot last year bids for 37-1 double on Friday 🐎

It is fantastic to have the jumps back good and proper and we will be treated to another very good card at Ascot Racecourse on Friday. Make sure you check out our free daily horse racing tips for Friday which are already on the website now!

Charlie Deutsch might not be the first name that springs to mind when you think of jockeys with brilliant strike-rates. However, he had a fantastic year at Ascot last year, winning on five of his 13 mounts, which is a 38 per cent return.

Let’s take a look at his two rides tomorrow and the 37-1 double can be backed on this page using the ready made William Hill bet slip provided.

This is the time of year that Venetia Williams really hits top gear usually, and the first of her runners at Ascot is Espoir De Guye. The top weight won this race in 2020 and the yard won the race last year too with Pink Legend. This horse has form figures that read 721 in November and the seventh was on debut so that’s easily forgiven. He goes well fresh, goes on any ground and has to be a big player.

Venetia Williams also won this corresponding race last year with Kapga De Lily, who is back for more. This mare won here well last year, and despite now being 10lb higher in the weights, she demolished her rivals from 6lb lower at Hereford last December. She disappointed in Listed grade twice subsequently, but fresh could be the time to catch her and the Williams yard and Deutsch could be in for a good day.
