Tips for Navan Races

The venue is in County Meath, Ireland, about 30 miles from Dublin. It stages both Flat and National Hunt racing, but is better known for the latter.

Course: It is a flat, left-handed mile and a half loop with a chute for five and six furlong races. The finish is a stiff three and a half furlongs.

Conditions can get very testing so stamina can be a crucial factor for our tips, particularly in long jump races. The chase course is outside of the hurdles track and the fourth-last fence is followed almost immediately by a bend, so it’s important to get away from it fast.

Draw Bias: There is no draw bias for our tips to consider.

Feature Races: The Group 3 Vintage Crop Stakes is the feature race on the flat for stayers, which has been won by some top class horses in the past. Including Yeats, Fame And Glory, Leading Light and Order Of St George. The Ballysax Stakes is of the same grade and can be a pointer to the Derby.

Navan hosts plenty of good jumps races throughout the season, the Grade 2 Navan Novice Hurdle is a big race for future champions, held in December.
