Tips for Carlisle Races

Hosting Flat racing in the summer and National Hunt racing in the winter, Carlisle is known for it’s very heavy going during winter. It is also home to the Carlisle Bell, first contested in 1599.

Course: A strangely shaped course best described as a one and a half mile “pear”. The winning post is at the end of a long, gentle hill, so our Carlisle tips always look kindly on excess stamina.

Draw Bias: Carlisle’s sprint races are run around a right hand bend so being drawn low tends to provide an advantage for our tips.

Feature Race: As mentioned, the Carlisle Bell is one of the oldest horse races in England, beating more famous races like the Epsom Derby for nearly two hundred years. It is run in June each year over seven furlongs, 173 yards, and myracing will have tips online from the evening before.
