HIGHER POWER is the one to beat at the weights, the winner of the Northumberland Plate in 2017. He has a superb record of 3/5 when running on synthetics, looking too big a price in this. Weekender ended last season with a disqualification when first past the post in a Listed race at Ascot. That is a solid line of form, with more to come. It isn’t enough to suggest he should be as short as he is in this line-up, however.
