Located by the sea in the south of Ireland, Tramore features both National Hunt and Flat racing. It’s main attraction is it’s yearly August Festival held over four days, for which we always have plenty of big priced tips.
Course: Tramore is known for being an extremely difficult track to ride, both on the flat and over jumps. Stalls aren’t used on the flat, so horses with prior flag start experience (often gained when racing in jumps races) often have an advantage at the start. The sharp turns and mix of uphill and downhill runs mean that our Tramore tips look for horses who will be well suited by this unique track.
Draw Bias: On the flat, Tramore only races at distances between one mile four furlongs and two miles, meaning there is no draw bias.
Feature Race: While the August meeting always attracts attention, the feature race at Tramore each year is held on New Year’s Day. A Listed Chase run over two miles and five furlongs, the ground is often extremely testing. In recent years, it has been won by horses who have gone on to compete in the Cheltenham Festival Gold Cup.
