Repeat of second at Exeter on penultimate start gives him a major chance given he ran from out of the weights, and he might bounce back to form after a below-par effort there last time.
Won the Finale Juvenile Hurdle at Chepstow and Victor Ludorum Juvenile Hurdle at Haydock last season. Found Nemean Lion too strong latest at Windsor but is 3lb better off here and that could make all the difference.
Knocking the door down of late with a trio of runner-up finishes in handicaps including around here. Found a progressive type too good at Sandown and could go close again here.
In great form over hurdles when last seen in the summer and was sent off a favourite for his sole chase start so it’s interesting he’s tried over larger obstacles again and he goes well after a break.
Won an Irish point at the fourth attempt and was subsequently bought for £50,000. Harry Cobden is an eye-catching booking here for his rules debut. Should go well.

Situated in West Sussex, Fontwell is a jumps only track that was first opened in 1924. It is the racecourse where Queen Elizabeth II had her first ever winner as an owner when Monaveen claimed the Chichester Handicap Chase in 1949.
Course: The hurdles track is a left-handed oval where the circuit is a mile. The chase course is unique as it is in the shape of a figure-of-eight meaning the horses turn both right and left-handed, because of this it doesn’t suit big, long-striding types and we always bear that in mind for our tips.
Feature Race: The Grade 2 National Spirit Hurdle takes place in February at a distance of just over 2 miles and 3 furlongs for which we will have a full preview and tips. It is recognised as a trial for the Cheltenham Festival and has been won by festival winners in the past such as Baracouda and My Way de Solzen.
