Call Off The Dogs is a two-time course and distance winner, whose current rating is just 2lb higher than his last winning one. Likely to be refreshed after a break, conditions are set to suit and he should run well as a result.
Tommy The Tank has looked useful in three starts over hurdles so far and was an easier winner over a longer trip at Hereford last month. That form probably makes him the one to beat here and a follow up success could be on the cards, despite carrying a 7lb penalty.
Ugo Bingo was a cosy winner over 1m7f at Wincanton on Boxing Day and the third has boosted that form by winning next time. He was outstayed over 2m3f when fourth at Taunton after that so the shorter trip could well be in his favour here.

Situated in West Sussex, Fontwell is a jumps only track that was first opened in 1924. It is the racecourse where Queen Elizabeth II had her first ever winner as an owner when Monaveen claimed the Chichester Handicap Chase in 1949.
Course: The hurdles track is a left-handed oval where the circuit is a mile. The chase course is unique as it is in the shape of a figure-of-eight meaning the horses turn both right and left-handed, because of this it doesn’t suit big, long-striding types and we always bear that in mind for our tips.
Feature Race: The Grade 2 National Spirit Hurdle takes place in February at a distance of just over 2 miles and 3 furlongs for which we will have a full preview and tips. It is recognised as a trial for the Cheltenham Festival and has been won by festival winners in the past such as Baracouda and My Way de Solzen.
