Auteuil racecourse is a 33-hectare racecourse, exclusively hosting jumps racing and can be found in the Bois de Boulogne, Paris, France. To the west of Paris, Auteuil racecourse is nestled closely with two other famous sporting arena’s with Roland Garros just 700m away and Paris Longchamp less than 4km to its west.
Auteuil racecourse is home to exclusively jumps racing and is the centre of jumps racing in France hosting 9 grade 1 races each season.
Auteuil is unique in its layout, while it only has four tracks with two concentric steeple-chase tracks, the exterior track measuring 2,239m the interior track of 2,166m, a hurdle track of 2,418m and a figure of eight-track of 2,418m it defies convention as there are a variety of different routes that can be run on these tracks.
There are in fact, 9 different hurdles course routes with races run over 3,000m to 5,100m and 16 different chase courses route ranging from 3,400m to 5,800m.
Not only is Auteuil racecourse known for its unique layout, but also its variety of jumps on the courses.
At Auteuil, it provides a unique test of a horse with jumps including open-ditches, the stone wall, the rivers, the clay slope, The bull-finch, the double barrier and the famous rail ditch and fence, which required a spectacular jump of 8m.
Auteuil Racecourse will host around 40 race meetings throughout a season with many of them being red-letter days, with top graded action.
