Between five furlongs and the extended seven furlongs at Beverley Racecourse, you simply have to be drawn fairly low to have a reasonable chance of winning. Up there with Chester, Beverley has a massive draw advantage for runners that are drawn low. This is because the track goes downhill and right from the stalls and if you don’t get the inside rail you are pushed wide. If you are wide, you will lose many lengths on the field and it really compromises your chance of success.
Adrian Wall has highlighted three horses running at Beverley on Wednesday who should run a big race!
Bern Rossetti travelled really well for a long way when fourth at Redcar on debut and should go well from stall two, but TJ Kent’s Prosperitas will track him in stall three and could take him in the closing stages. He finished his race off really well at Thirsk on debut and could be a smart enough type.
Richard Fahey’s Far Ahead holds strong claims in the following 7f maiden. He was beaten 10 lengths at York on debut but that was a very strong race where he finished fourth of 18 and the form of the race is also working out well. He can be expected to improve and should find this easier from his gate in stall two.
In the closing 5f handicap, Sergeant Mayer has a good opportunity to follow up his recent Nottingham victory from a good draw in stall two. He should get away fast and will grab the rail so will save many lengths in doing so.
