We highlighted a big gamble at Kempton yesterday which won and went off at a starting price of 9/2! Today’s has been smashed from 33/1 into 5/1 at the time of writing this article!

Trainer Sarah-Jayne Davies has sent out 28/1 and 4/1 winners in the last few days and it is very interesting that now O’Grady’s Hill has been heavily supported for the 2m2f handicap chase at Taunton. Clearly, the yard is in fine fettle at present and this mare has been smashed in from a high of 33/1 all the way into 5/1 at the time of writing this article.
This mare actually finished fourth on point debut behind Air Of Entitlement back in December 2023 and that horse won the Martin Pipe at Cheltenham this month, while O’Grady’s Hill herself won a Borris House point before being picked up for £5,000.
She has had nine starts under rules and remains without a win, but her best form thus far was when trained by Harry Derham when finishing second in a bumper and twice over hurdles on her first three runs for the yard in the summer of 2024.
O’Grady’s Hill showed zilch in two handicaps for Derham after that and was then shipped onto her current yard, where she has run no sort of race in four starts, the last three over larger obstacles. It’s difficult to know why the money is now coming for her but perhaps the promise of good ground is the reason why, as we mentioned before her best runs for Derham came in the summer months.
The handicapper is also relenting and she can now race off a mark of 79, having had her first chase handicap in January off 91.
