‘We’re very happy’ – Jamie Snowden confident for Cheltenham & Aintree double bid 🏆

Jamie Snowden achieved his second Cheltenham Festival winner earlier this month. You Wear It Well won the Jack De Bromhead Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle in good style from the front. Her trainer is keen to send her to Aintree to take on the boys again and go back up in trip. Snowden’s comments suggest she’s come out of the race well and continues to be in fine form. It’s all systems go for another spring target and Aintree looks like the one. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

‘She’s come out of the race really well’

Doing it the hard way out in front, You Wear It Well was an impressive winner over 2m1f at Cheltenham last time out. The tactics were sensible as her stamina was proven over further and in deeper ground. Jamie Snowden’s mare is reportedly in good shape and looks primed to bid for a prestigious double, by attempting to win at Aintree this month.

“She’s come out of the race really well and we’re very happy with her. We’re just in the process of deciding whether we go to Fairyhouse or Aintree – I think we’re probably leaning towards Aintree at the moment,” Snowden said.

‘Hopefully she can run another good race’

Her trainer has no qualms about taking on the boys in the Grade 1 Mersey Novices’ Hurdle over 2m4f. Having been the only horse to get anywhere near Hermes Allen over an extended 2m4f at Newbury earlier in the season, both her stamina and her ability to compete with the boys is confirmed. Snowden added: “She was second against the boys in the Challow Novices’ Hurdle and hopefully she can run another good race.” She has the option of the mares’ race at Fairyhouse but her form suggests she should be well capable of holding her own against the boys at Aintree.
