Echoing Silence

One for Honeysuckle’s owner Kenny Alexander, Echoing Silence is a very promising mare who has already shown lots of ability. Her trainer said: “She’s lovely. She came back from her holidays this year twice the mare she was. She really filled out her frame. We were delighted with her win in a 2m4f maiden hurdle at Cork. We bought her as a top-class mare and hopefully she will develop into that.”

Forty Coats

This horse was a bit of a surprise package at Cheltenham and he ran a very nice race to finish fourth in the Turners at Cheltenham. A campaign over fences beckons and he’s one to look forward to. The trainer said: “He’s still a couple of weeks off a run, but we’ll aim for a beginners’ chase and see from there. I was delighted with his run in the Turners when fourth to The New Lion. We knew he was a good horse. He got a bit outpaced and then stayed on really well. He looked a stayer that day.”

Gameball

The son of Yeats could be one of his trainer’s better novice hurdlers this season and he won his maiden well. Henry de Bromhead said: “He came well recommended from the Slatterys, who won a bumper with him. We were delighted with his maiden hurdle win at Punchestown. He was really impressive and jumped and travelled really well. We’ll try to get him to settle a little better and then I’d say he’ll probably go for the Royal Bond.”
