Tyson Fury is well known for his incredible boxing exploits but he is expected to be at Newmarket Racecourse this evening to watch his runner Big Gypsy King make his debut. Fury owns the horse in partnership with manager Spencer Brown and this maiden has a history of producing a strong winner. You can find all of the weekend’s free horse racing tips on the website!
Running in the mile maiden (5.45) this evening, Big Gypsy King is trained by Darryll Holland and will make his debut under the supervision of the talented Neil Callan.
She is a daughter of German Derby winner Sea The Moon, and should certainly win races in time. However, it is worth noting that her trainer has warned earlier this week that there is every chance she will need the run and could be a better horse once she fills into her frame as a three-year-old next year.
The Holland stable is back in a bit of decent form now, having had a rather lacklustre start to the year, and the yard is 0-18 with two-year-olds at the track so although it’s exciting stuff, it is advised to tread carefully when it comes to placing a bet on her.
This is a race with a famous past as none other than Frankel won this maiden back in 2010 with Nathaniel chasing Henry Cecil’s star horse into second on the day. There have been other very good winners of the race, including Roaring Lion in 2017, and it will be interesting to see which of these comes out on top as they could be worth following.
