Staffordshire-based trainer Jennie Candlish has been selective but very successful with her runners at Hexham so far this season. She’s had just five runners there during the current campaign and three of them have won, giving her a 60 per cent strike-rate.
Candlish’s sole representative at the Northumberland track on Wednesday could be worth looking out for with that in mind. Here we take a detailed look at the horse in question’s chances. We provide free tips and content across horse and greyhound racing, which you can find by clicking here.
Fromheretoeternity is already a two-time winner over timber and the first of those came in a low grade handicap at Worcester in October. That clearly boosted her confidence as she followed up in a course and distance novice hurdle next time. It was a visually impressive 18-length success and Uokhun, who is in opposition once again, was well beaten back in fourth.
Second at Plumpton on her most recent start, a similar performance could be enough to get back to winning ways. Sean Quinlan was on board for both successes and he returns to take the ride, replacing Gavin Sheehan who was on board last time.
The biggest danger appears to be Lucinda Russell’s filly Hay Meadow, who won a bumper at Perth on her debut under rules and struggled when upped to Listed level at Cheltenham after that. There should be more to come now hurdling and it would be unwise to rule her out here.
Candlish’s seven-year-old has a fitness advantage here which could well give her the edge, despite the fact that she carries a 12lb penalty.
