3.05 Fontwell

Anthony Honeyball has a formidable return at Fontwell Park, netting a 30 per cent return at the venue in the last five seasons, and his sole runner on the card on Sunday is Guivinec who runs in the 3m2f handicap chase, with Rex Dingle booked for the ride.

Thought good enough to start off in a strong Ascot bumper on debut in November, the son of Joshua Tree didn’t show any worthwhile form until he was sent handicapping and by far his best effort came at this track when third here over fences in April.

He got tapped for toe once that race heated up over the trip which was just shy of 2m4f, but rallied strongly to the line and was only beaten just over three lengths.

Another third followed over the same course and distance, before he was a remote fourth at Newton Abbot over 3m2f, staying on well at the death after losing his pitch halfway through the race. Blinkers and a tongue-tie are fitted together on this occasion and a mark of 77 shouldn’t be beyond him so he will be there with every chance.
