Trainer with 100% strike-rate at Fakenham this season has one Sunday runner

Razzle Dazzle 'Em leads the field in the 2m novice hurdle at Fakenham, 19/2/16

We have just the two meetings to look forward to across Britain on Sunday but we have come across a nice statistic that could be of use at Fakenham Racecourse. You can find all of our free horse racing tips on the website and our Nap of the Day in particular has been in brilliant form the last couple of months. Let’s discuss the stat in more detail now below.

1.15 Fakenham

Trainer Tom Gretton has a perfect strike-rate at Fakenham this season with two winners on the board from two runners at the track and he bids to maintain his 100 per cent strike-rate with Overabottleofred in the 2m5f mares’ handicap chase.

Only six runners are currently set to go to post for this contest but all six have a chance so it should be competitive. Overabottleofred is coming back from a layoff of 246 days so fitness will need to be taken on trust, but she certainly has a big shout if she is ready to roll.

It took the 6yo a small while to find her feet but she finally got off the mark at the seventh time of asking when landing a handicap chase at Huntingdon over just shy of 3m by a whopping 21 lengths when last seen back in April.

The ground was good to soft on that occasion and with similar conditions forecast, she has to enter the reckoning. A 5lb rise in the weights for that success last time also looks rather lenient.

Gretton doesn’t have a big operation but he has saddled a couple of winners already in December. It will be interesting to see what the market makes of this mare’s chances.
