Newmarket-based trainer Hamad Al Jehani has had two winners from just six runners in the last fortnight. This gives him an impressive strike-rate of 33 per cent, but what stands out is that the two winners have been his two most recent runners.
Previously based in Qatar, Al Jehani began operating in the UK this year and trains exclusively for prominent owners Wathnan Racing. His one runner at Musselburgh on Friday is his first at the track and he’ll be looking to maintain this winning streak. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.
Evening Saigon won well on debut over this trip at Tipperary for Michael O’Callaghan back in May and hasn’t been seen since. He did well under the circumstances, after getting a bump at the start and recorvered well to win nicely. One would imagine the two-year-old colt can build on that and he can take a step forward here.
Al Jehani has had three winners from 19 runners so far this season and it’s eye-catching that two of those have been his last two runners. Evening Saigon is just his second two-year-old runner of the year and the first was narrowly defeated in a Group 2.
Hilary Needler winner Perfect Part is probably the main competition on form but she needs to improve on her second at Beverley last month. Karl Burke’s juveniles are always dangerous but his runner King Of Light has plenty to find. The other two runners aren’t without chances but Evening Saigon looks like the one to beat.
There’s plenty in the horse’s favour here and should go close if producing a similar effort to his debut.
