We’ve got a bumper nine-race card to look forward to at Newcastle on Friday and seven of them will be live on ITV. There’s a significant amount of Irish interest so we’ve picked out three interesting raiders and combined them into a huge treble. Amongst them is a lightly raced Daniel McLoughlin runner. Take a look at our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.
Pints In Peace (3/1, bet365) is still lightly raced, especially in handicaps, and he’s trying this trip for the first time here. There was plenty to like about his close third over 7f at Dundalk and he was less than a length away from getting off the mark. Daniel McLoughlin’s three-year-old didn’t appreciate the drop in trip at three weeks ago and a better run is expected here. This will be the trainer’s first all-weather runner in Britain and there are plenty of reasons to be confident.
Apache Outlaw (14/1, bet365) runs his race more often than not when on the all-weather and he’s adaptable with regards to trip. Adrian McGuinness’ gelding was a winner over this trip on the turf at the Curragh in October 2024 and he’s entitled to be competitive here. He’s an experienced operator and McGuinness is operating at a healthy strike-rate of 25 per cent in the last fortnight.
Little Empire (13/2, bet365) has been pretty consistent recently and probably deserves a return to the winners’ enclosure. The son of Holy Roman Emperor wasn’t beaten far when finishing third at Dundalk last time out and he reappears off the same mark here. A similar effort could be enough.
