Three horses who will love heavy ground at Hamilton Park on Wednesday

It’s a competitive day of racing on Wednesday, with meetings across Britain and Ireland. Bath, Hamilton, Lingfield, Southwell and Kempton are all on the docket, with Kilbeggan joining them across the water.

We’ll have horse racing tips on the website, including a NAP of the Day. Hamilton is a notoriously tough venue to get home in when the ground is heavy. You need a horse proven in the conditions to be successful and we’ve found three horses who fit that profile on Wednesday. The details can be found below.

5.10 Hamilton

Ruth Carr’s Hostelry has only raced on heavy ground three times to date but the mare has a win and a place from those three runs in the mud and has to enter calculations here. A winner on heavy at Thirsk in April, she hasn’t won since and she is now 2lb below that winning mark. She ran a good race in third on good ground at Nottingham last month but could improve now.

5.45 Hamilton

In the following 6f nursery handicap, Herecomesthebear looks too big a price to ignore. A keen sort, he won a four-runner nursery at Ffos Las on heavy ground last time, digging deep to lead in the shadows of the post. He is a player.

6.15 Hamilton

Slainte Mhath is a three-time C&D winner who always goes well on heavy ground and although she is yet to get her head in front this year, she was a good fourth behind the reopposing Rock Melody here last month. Nicely treated at the moment, there’s no reason why she won’t be bang there here.
