Racing is a competitive sport and it pays to be on the lookout for every advantage available to you. Every pound could make the difference, especially in handicaps. We’ve picked out three runners on Friday that are officially ahead of the handicapper and we think they might have a little extra up their sleeves too! These three runners are well worth considering and they can make the most of their advantages. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.
Kilta is a whopping 6lb ahead of the handicapper on Thursday and he showed that nothing is impossible when winning from 12lb out of the handicap when last seen. Sam England’s seven-year-old shouldn’t have had a chance according to the ratings but he kept on well to beat the favourite. The handicapper wants him on a mark of 125 now but he races here under a 7lb penalty instead.
Hot Team could hardly have been more impressive when scoring by wide margin at Carlisle last week. Patrick Morris’ eight-year-old won from 1lb out of the handicap and his new mark will be 52. Running under a 4lb penalty instead, that leaves him 3lb ahead of the handicapper. This race is 0-55 whilst his recent win came in 0-65 and that means he has every chance of getting the job done once again.
Woodleigh also has 3lb in hand, having won easily at Ripon recently. A 6lb penalty should make little difference if turning up in similar form and Zak Wheatley is on board once again. The claimer rode him to victory at Ripon and this horse could be one to keep on side for the time being. Now is definitely a good time to catch him and he should go close here.
