Now that the Dublin Racing Festival is out of the way, all National Hunt racing fans are turning their attention to next month’s Cheltenham Festival. It’s hard to know for sure what races horses are going for but non-runner no bet options can be a good way of combating that.
Offered prices are usually shorter but if you fancy one for an alternative option, it’s a always a sensible option. We’ve picked out three horses who are well worth considering with the safety blanket of NRNB. Take a look at our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.
Ballyfad is potentially heading for the Turners, judging by the prices, but his performance at Leopardstown last time was an excellent trial for the Supreme. Cutting out most of the running last time, he battled admirably all the way to the line and was only denied by a narrow margin in the end. You still need to stay in order to win a Supreme so this could be a very sensible option.
Talk The Talk was given plenty to do when winning the Tattersalls Ireland Novice Hurdle on Sunday and he just got up on the line to beat Ballyfad. A step up in trip for the Turners at Cheltenham would be an excellent idea on that evidence and this race would be perfect, provided he can settle nicely over further. This horse is a very promising sort and longer trips will be on the agenda sooner or later.
Romeo Coolio has managed to get away with it on his last couple of starts over 2m1f at Leopardstown but he’s clearly a much better horse over further. Gordon Elliott doesn’t like running novices in open company but he’ll surely be tempted in this case and he’s good enough to be competitive.
