Course form can be absolutely crucial when looking for a winner. If you know your way around a place, you are going to have an advantage over somebody who has never been there before. The same applies to horses – knowing your way around a venue is always a big advantage. Adrian Wall has picked out three former course winners running on ITV on Saturday.

Traprain Law is a C&D winner who finished second to the reopposing Tommy’s Oscar in this race 12 months ago. He has been out of form this season to date but was far from disgraced when seventh in last month’s Grand Annual. This is much easier. Big player.
1.43 Ayr
Whistle Stop Tour is a dual hurdles winner, both last season, and the form Irish point-to-point winner won back-to-back over fences in the winter, including over C&D. He was below his best at Cheltenham but the stable love it here and this is easier. He can lay down the biggest challenge to our Nap of the day, Loughglynn.
3.12 Newbury
Metal Merchant won this very race 12 months ago, beating 19 other rivals on his return to action at the time. He has ran well in defeat since, finishing fourth in a valuable Ascot handicap off this mark in July. This has likely been the target for some time and Jack Channon is very good at getting one ready off the back of a break.
