Willie Mullins has been the dominant force at the Dublin Racing Festival in recent years and the bookies expect that to continue. He trains the favourite in each of the eight Grade 1 races at time of writing so we’ve combined them in to a 261/1 accumulator. 1.15 Leopardstown (Saturday)
Final Demand (7/4, betfair) was a very impressive winner of a 2m5f maiden hurdle at Limerick over Christmas and the second and third have boosted the form by winning since. The step up in grade looks fully justified on that evidence and he’s entitled to improve.
1.50 Leopardstown (Saturday)
Sainte Lucie (5/2, betfair) pulled nicely clear to score by 11 lengths in a Punchestown maiden hurdle last time out, even though she was very keen in the early stages of the race. That experience won’t be lost on her and she should go close if settling better this time around.
2.55 Leopardstown (Saturday)
Majborough (4/7, betfair) is an impressive specimen and he made a huge impression when scoring on seasonal debut over fences at Fairyhouse. He was always going to be a chaser and the fact that he’s the Triumph Hurdle winner is just a bonus.
3.30 Leopardstown (Saturday)
There’s not much to say about Galopin Des Champs (8/11, betfair) that hasn’t already been said but he loves it here at Leopardstown and should prove very hard to beat once again.
1.10 Leopardstown (Sunday)
Ballyburn (1/2, betfair) was a brilliant winner at the Cheltenham Festival last season but Sir Gino has since lowered his colours. The step back up in trip should be a massive help and connections fancy him as a Gold Cup horse of the future.
1.40 Leopardstown (Sunday)
Kopek Des Bordes (13/8, betfair) managed to win a maiden hurdle at Leopardstown on Boxing Day without jumping a twig. Obviously his jumping will need to be better in Grade 1 company but there’s clearly a decent engine there.
2.10 Leopardstown (Sunday)
Gaelic Warrior (4/6, betfair) won the Arkle in awesome style back in March but he’s been beaten in two starts since. Likely to improve for his seasonal debut effort behind Solness, a win here would firmly establish his Champion Chase credentials.
3.20 Leopardstown (Sunday)
Lossiemouth (8/15, betfair) will be looking to bounce back after a very flat display in the Christmas Hurdle. Stablemate State Man also has something to prove but Lossiemouth would look like the most likely winner at this stage.
