‘The step up in grade won’t be a problem’ – 110/1 Willie Mullins Fairyhouse acca

Willie Mullins at the 2018 Cheltenham Festival

Willie Mullins is all but guaranteed to lose his title in Britain to Dan Skelton this year but there’s still a good chance he can overtake long-time leader Gordon Elliott in Ireland. He’s going to need a very strong finish to the season and there’s lots of prize money on offer at Fairyhouse on Sunday, with two Grade 1s on the card. With that in mind, we’ve combined four of his best chances in the graded races into a four-horse accumulator and it could be worth a play. 2.40 Fairyhouse

Leader d’Allier (4/5, bet365) is a very promising recruit from France and he managed to win five bumpers, including a Grade 3. An impressive winner of a maiden hurdle at Punchestown when last seen, the step up in grade won’t be a problem for him.

3.15 Fairyhouse

He’s On Fire (2/1, bet365) could hardly have been more impressive when absolutely bolting up in a Carlisle maiden hurdle on debut for this yard. The runner-up has boosted the form by winning since and if Mullins’ gelding is in similar form, he could prove very hard to beat.

3.50 Fairyhouse

Charme De Faust (9/2, bet365) is adaptable with regards to ground as she was a comfortable winner on heavy at Thurles back in January and ran a cracker to finish fourth at a big price at Cheltenham. Perhaps the step up in trip will suit her.

5.00 Fairyhouse

Kappa Jy Pyke (11/4, bet365) was pretty average over hurdles but has taken his form to the next level over fences. He got the better of stablemate and subsequent winner Salvator Mundi at Thurles in November and was a comfortable winner in a Grade 3 last time.
