‘The stats say it all’ – This is the trainer/jockey combination to follow at Fontwell

Fontwell hosts a seven-race card on Friday and there’s one trainer and jockey combination that really stands out. Trainer Jamie Snowden has three winners from four runners at the track so far this season and jockey Gavin Sheehan is operating at a 40 per cent strike-rate, so the stats say it all.

4.13 Fontwell

Janworth took a while to get the hang of things over hurdles but she has been progressive in handicap company since May. She got off the mark in a low grade race at Sedgefield on her first start for the best part of a year, having made all the running.

Well clear when an unfortunate faller at the last next time, she made no mistake at Worcester after that. Positive tactics were employed once again and she pulled eight lengths clear at the line. She was a little flat when last seen but should be capable of winning more races.

7.18 Fontwell

Obsessedwithyou did win a couple of times over hurdles but her record since going chasing has been much more consistent. She looked in need of the run at Warwick on her first start after a break and it was a much better display when winning comfortably at Ffos after that.

Snowden’s six-year-old then won again but even more impressively at Bangor but also underperformed on her most recent start. The slight drop in trip shouldn’t be an issue, having won over shorter before, and there could be more to come.
