2.05 Ascot

The Moores love a winner at Ascot and at first glance Kotmask (18/1) looks too big a price to ignore in the extended 2m chase, which is a premier handicap. The son of Masked Marvel has won fresh in the past and he is effective at trips ranging from 2m to 2m4f. He’s probably at his best with a bit of ease in the ground but he has gone well on good before and he’s back down to a workable mark on his return. The market will provide clues but he’s of interest.

3.15 Ascot

There’s every chance Stoner’s Choice (28/1) is going to need the run after 558 days off the track, but Fergal O’Brien’s runner will be a danger to all if he’s back to anywhere close to his best in the 2m handicap hurdle. Last seen winning off 130 at Kempton over 2m5f in April 2023, he runs off the same mark on his return and the yard’s horses are running really well at present.

3.45 Ascot

Dan Skelton is a big player on Saturdays now and Flegmatik (20/1) isn’t to be discounted in the 3m Gold Cup handicap chase. He was third here off 138 over 2m5f on return a couple of years ago and unseated rider in this race on return last year but he’s fairly treated on the pick of his form.
