The greatest of them all is back – we assess Ryan Moore’s rides at Lingfield

The greatest jockey on the planet is back in action! Ryan Moore will make his long-awaited return to action after breaking his leg with five  rides at Lingfield on Wednesday and below, we will assess them all.

Aidan O’Brien’s retained jockey will get some well needed time in the saddle at the Surrey venue before a valuable trip to Hong Kong in two weeks’ time. Let’s delve into his Wednesday rides.

Sovereign Wealth was a good second in a nursery over 7f at Chelmsford last week but the son of Frankel was no match for runaway winner Elan d’Or on the day. Held up in rear, he powered home to grab the runner-up spot but it’s going to take a top ride by Ryan Moore to win this because he seems to be crying out for a step up in trip. Is a sharp 7f around here the answer? Time will tell.

Lazzar was sent off favourite for a handicap at Wolverhampton over 6f on latest but he was very disappointing, beaten out of sight in fact. This is a much easier contest and that along with the booking of Moore could spark a revival.

Evening Fades is a half-sister to five winners including Group 3 winner Karar, Group 2 winner Lights On and Burnish who won on the all-weather. Her dam was Listed-placed and is out of a half-sister to the dam of St Leger winner Lucarno. Likely type on paper.

Morrophore has won on the all-weather and she bolted up in a fillies’ handicap at Ascot back in May over this trip. She was very slowly away when fourth at Newmarket when last seen but remains full of potential.

Invited is one of three in here for Middleham Park. He won over C&D in August but ran no race at Kempton two weeks ago sporting a first-time tongue-tie. The drop down in trip is a good thing.
