There’s three British-trained runners doing battle in the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint but Charlie Appleby’s Military Code would seemingly have the best chance of the trio. The son of Wootton Bassett won his first two career starts, and although he hasn’t found the winner’s enclosure in four starts since, he was beaten just a head in the Listed Roses Stakes at York when last seen.

Military Code will need to step up a fair bit to win this but there’s every chance that he can given his connections. An inside draw in stall two should do his chances no harm and he will be ridden by stable jockey William Buick, who is up there as one of the best riders on the planet and knows his way around here.

11.05pm Del Mar

Perhaps completely overlooked in the market and wrongly so, Andrew Balding’s Pacific Mission has a chance in the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies’ Turf in the hands of Colin Keane, who is riding for his owners, Juddmonte. A winner at Kempton on her second start, she was just touched off in the Group 2 May Hill at Doncaster when last seen and she has the scope to improve again.
