‘That form gives him a huge chance’ – Liam’s 14/1 Sprint Cup ante-post tip

We’re heading into the last couple of months of the Flat turf season in Britain but there’s still loads of excellent racing to look forward to. Haydock hosts the Group 1 Sprint Cup on Saturday so Liam Bramall has had an ante-post look at the race. There’s one horse in particularly who catches the eye and the 115-rated three-year-old is available at odds of 16/1 in places. Take a look at our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

3.35 Haydock (Saturday)

Big Mojo (14/1, Betfred) brings a fair level of form to the table here and whilst open Group 1 sprint races can be tough for three-year-olds, he has acquitted himself well. Things didn’t go to plan in the King George Stakes at Goodwood last time but the very sharp 5f trip is probably sub-optimal for him.

Returning to 6f here, we should see an improved effort as his last effort over the trip was excellent. Mick Appleby’s colt was a neck away from winning the July Cup on his penultimate start and that form gives him every chance here.

Huge outsider No Half Measures only just collared him but he battled on well and the far side group appeared to have the advantage over those who raced in the middle or the near side. There was loads to like about that performance and Tom Marquand will surely be on board once again.

His last win came in the Group 3 Commonwealth Cup Trial Stakes and like most sprinters, he’s likely to get better with age. An official rating of 115 suggests he doesn’t have a great deal to find here and the best is surely yet to come.
