Shergar Cup Tote Placepot picks – Saturday predictions

1.35 Ascot

Existent was a big eyecatcher of late, missing the break completely on a couple of occasions but still running good races. If the horse can get away on terms, he is a big player.

2.10 Ascot

Zoffee was second in the Chester Cup on his seasonal reappearance and this thorough stayer would win this race doing handstands if anywhere close to his best.

2.45 Ascot

Scampi will be ridden by Saffie Osborne and the girls usually do very well at this meeting. This horse won a big field handicap at York in May and looked in need of this test when sixth there when last seen.

3.20 Ascot

Escobar a valuable 17-runner handicap over 7f here in October. He has been well out of form since but he has slid down to a very dangerous mark and can’t be discounted.

3.55 Ascot

At a fairly juicy price, I am going to put Struth into the placepot. He won at Chester on heavy ground in May and any more rain would do his chances the world of good.

4.30 Ascot

Radio Goo Goo disappointed when well backed for a Listed race in Ireland last month, but still ran with credit. She has to be of serious interest dropping back into a handicap.
