‘She clearly likes it around here’ – Four course specialists to watch on Wednesday

Course form is always an important factor to consider when trying to pick out winners. Horses are individuals and with that in mind, are likely to perform better at certain tracks than others. This can provide a competitive edge so we’ve selected four horses with proven records at their respective tracks on Wednesday. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

1.35 Musselburgh

Code Purple has never failed to finish in the first two in five starts at Musselburgh. This includes three victories, the most recent of which came over 1m1f back in August. Keeping on to claim second here over 7f earlier this month, the extra furlong is likely to help his chances this time around.

3.42 Musselburgh

Reel Her In was disappointing over hurdles for previous connections but has won twice in three Flat starts for Ben Haslam. Both of those wins have come at Musselburgh and she’ll be defending her perfect course record here. The narrow nature of both successes perhaps indicates that there’s more in the tank and a 2lb higher mark may not be enough to stop her.

5.00 Kempton

Happy Hadeda is two-from-two at Kempton and it was an excellent performance to win on handicap debut over course and distance last time. It was her first start for 322 days and a 3lb rise looks very reasonable. Hughie Morrison’s filly is entitled to improve and she clearly likes it around here.

6.30 Kempton

Tahitian Prince completed a hat-trick of course wins over a mile back in 2021 and has struggled in three starts this term. The handicapper has responded accordingly however and he has now dropped to a mark of 72, which is 5lb lower than his last winning one. Obviously he’s not the horse he once was but a return to the winners’ enclosure should be on the agenda sooner or later.
