Richard Kingscote is 3/6 at Bath in 2024 and heads there for one ride on Wednesday

Richard Kingscote has been a jockey to follow at Bath so far this year, despite having had just six rides there. Those six rides have resulted in three winners and a 50 per cent strike-rate is more than healthy. It could therefore be significant that he heads there on Wednesday for one ride. We’ve had a detailed look at his mount’s form and assessed its chances. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

Crimson Angel is arguably the least exposed of the five runners here as the four-year-old has had 11 starts to date. She’s yet to win in handicap company but the handicapper is beginning to relent. Her best effort in handicap company came at Wolverhampton in November where she was a narrow second off a 2lb higher mark, albeit with the assistance of a 7lb claimer.

The daughter of Harry Angel does have two victories to her name and she got off the mark at the second time of asking in a Lingfield maiden. It was an even better performance under a penalty in a Southwell novice next time and she showed plenty of promise. She looks more than capable of winning handicaps on that evidence and is likely to be bang in the mix here.

Clive Cox’s filly needs to prove herself on turf, as all of her best efforts have come on the all-weather. Two disappointing efforts on grass is a very small sample size however and she certainly deserves another chance or two. This race looks winnable and it presents Crimson Angel with a cracking opportunity to gain a first handicap success.
