Raider alert: Cian Michael Collins sends two horses to Ffos Las on Sunday

Cian Michael Collins doesn’t have the largest of teams but he certainly packs a punch with what he has. The County Meath-based trainer has had a few British winners already and he always has to be respected when he sends one over. The Welsh Champion Hurdle is a race Collins won two years ago with stable star Effernock Fizz so he knows what’s needed to win it, and this year he will run Fiveonefive who is a very tasty price indeed. The son of Dylan Thomas won a 2m1f handicap hurdle at Cartmel in June off a mark of 128, but he hasn’t run near that level in two starts since when down the field at Galway over hurdles and on the Flat at Listowel. Still though, he’s running off a reasonable mark and he handles any ground so he could run a big race.

4.30 Ffos Las

Jetaway To Getaway has shown very little form to date but interestingly the mare was backed off the boards prior to being withdrawn at Downpatrick on Friday. She has been beaten out of sight in every career start thus far and her best performance was a remote fourth of 16 in a Fairyhouse maiden hurdle last October on soft ground. Nonetheless, the step up to 3m might suit her with cheekpieces added for the first time so she warrants a market check at the very least.
