Chester Racecourse can be a punters’ nightmare as there is such an extreme draw bias there over sprint trips. This often makes it extremely difficult to win there from a high draw as the bends are very sharp and they come thick and fast.
Often, horses with low draws are no value at all with the bookmakers as they are given an instant advantage, but we have picked out a horse running there on Saturday who can make the most of his good inside draw.
Make sure you check out our free horse racing tips for Saturday, including tips for every race live on ITV.
Likely to be too big a price to ignore, Due For Luck has a very decent draw in stall four for this 5f handicap and holds every chance if he can bounce back to his best. He was unfortunate not to win a good C&D handicap on his return from 3lb higher (a couple of these in that race) and was then third in the 3YO Dash at Epsom. He needs to find his form again but he’s well treated.
Mullins has only sent two runners to Chester in the last five years and neither were successful. However, that could all change in the Listed 1m6f Chester Stakes as Absurde brings some quality to the event. Last year’s Ebor winner and County Hurdle victor at the Cheltenham Festival in March ran no sort of race on his return to action. He just needed the run and if he’s anywhere near his best should take beating in this.
