Nine runners are set to go to post for the 2m1f mares’ maiden hurdle and it’s a fascinating contest as we will see three Irish raiders from different yards involved. Patrick Griffin’s Herja was a big eyecatcher when fourth of 18 at Thurles on her debut when sent off a 100/1 chance, while Stuart Crawford’s Green Sky is likely to be warm in the market off the back of a fine third of 21 at Navan in November.

Willie Mullins sends across Armed And Fabulous to take her chance and son Patrick will take the ride. She has been off the track 452 days so the betting movements will tell a lot, but she should have a squeak if Willie has worked his magic.

Hitting the frame in a trio of bumpers when trained by Mags Mullins, the seven-year-old mare was well beaten in three maiden hurdles for this yard so she’s going to have to step up on that form considerably to win this contest.

This is a rare occasion where it will be a surprise if a Willie Mullins-trained raider in a race of this status won’t go off favourite, but she has to be respected nonetheless.
