3.20 Downpatrick

Trainer Eoin Doyle has a 60 per cent strike-rate at Downpatrick so far this season, with three winners from five runners. Special Protector is his sole representative at the track on Friday and that makes her one to watch.

4.40 Newbury

Charlie Appleby has a strike-rate of 44 per cent at Newbury so far this season, with four winners from his nine runners. His only runner is Blessed Honour, who got off the mark at Nottingham when last seen and she should be in the mix on handicap debut.

4.55 Newton Abbot

Joe Tizzard has had just two runners in the last fortnight, both of which have won. It could therefore be significant that he runs War Lord at Newton Abbot on Friday. Third off this mark over 2m1f here in June, the extra distance looks likely to suit on that evidence.

5.20 Ayr

Charlie Johnston and Joe Fanning have a strike-rate of 24 per cent when combining at Ayr. The pair join forces with Where’s Clare and L’Eagle Aid and it’s the latter that makes the most appeal. He was a runaway winner of a Catterick novice when last seen and should go close upon his return to handicaps.

7.45 Kempton

Apprentice jockey Kaiya Fraser is operating at a very healthy strike-rate of 31 per cent in the last fortnight, with four winners from just 13 rides. His best chance of riding another winner at Kempton has to be Jack Sparrowe, who was a close up fourth at Newcastle when last seen.

8.30 Dundalk

Joseph O’Brien has five winners from just nine runners in maidens for three-year-olds and upwards at Dundalk. He runs Bard Of Avon in the finale and the son of Galileo looks open to plenty of progress, having had just two starts thus far.
